Year 14 Leavers gather together to celebrate their last day of school

In keeping with recent tradition, the Class of 2017 celebrated their last day in school by gathering at the gates of Thornhill, alongside a collection of humorous 'home-made' posters, and then making their way to our Stepping Out sculpture where they sang together before making their way to the school canteen for a final breakfast.

This was followed by the traditional viewing of the 'Leavers DVD', a video compilation of their 7 years as Thornhill pupils which, as always, brought a mixture of laughter and tears befitting the occasion.

The Year 14 pupils and their families returned to school in the evening for the Leavers mass , celebrated by school Chaplain, Fr Clerkin, accompanied by music provided by the Year 14 pupils, and followed by a presentation of gifts to the pupils from our Principal, Miss Hamilton.

Wishing the pupils well in their forthcoming exams and every blessing in their future, Miss Hamilton reminded them that they will always remain part of the Thornhill community - 'Once a Thornhill girl, always a Thornhill girl'

The evening concluded with a wonderful speech from out-going Head Girl, Blessy Biji, before the pupils joined in their final singing of our school song.
