Thornhill's Year 11 & 12 School Report Teams take part in the Live Broadcast for BBC News School Report Day.

On Thursday 16th March, our Year 11 & 12 School Report Teams headed off with excitement to the BBC Studios in Belfast to take part in the Live Broadcast for BBC News School Report Day.

This live broadcast gave students across Northern Ireland the opportunity to raise their ideas and opinions about a variety of issues from Brexit and Bullying to Stem Subjects in schools and becoming entrepreneurs. Aoibhenn O’Doherty of Year 12 got to ask a question about the financial strain when seeking success as an actor or artist to the panellists Fergal McFerran, Jeff Peel, Ursula Murphy, Dr Victoria Simms, James Huish and Anita Dennison.

The event was hosted by the well-known BBC presenter, Barra Best and the whole event gave our students an excellent understanding of how live TV programmes are made from the camera work required to the role of the floor manager.

The whole day proved to be an invaluable  experience for our students.
